Makers
If you need information on where
to buy the best drip coffee makers, look no
further.
Drip Coffee Makers are So Easy
to Use: Ever wonder why drip coffee
makers are so popular? I mean, you see them
everywhere. Any place that sells any kind of coffee brewing
equipment is going to have at least a few drip coffee makers
and most likely quite a few. There's a reason for
that.
It's because they are simple and easy
to use. People have a no muss, no fuss mentality, and they
often like to keep things as simple as possible and still get
the job done. For coffee lovers, there is really no simpler
method of brewing then with drip coffee makers. They are
virtually set it and forget it. But don't forget for too long,
lest your coffee become bitter sitting on the burning
plate.
They certainly are not difficult to
use. Most people don't even need any kind of owner's manual.
Just fill the tank with water, measure out your grounds into
the filter basket, and press a button. Many do this for you and
have your coffee ready when you wake up. Yes, drip coffee
makers are great.
Which Kinds of Drip Coffee
Makers are the Best? You may wonder, with so many
models and prices, why not just buy the cheapest thing and be
done with it? Well, many people do and they are quite happy
with it and never wish to upgrade.
But for those who are more of a coffee
connoisseur and want to have the best flavor in their coffee,
you need something better than any old discount brand. So what
exactly makes one brand better than another?
One thing is the way they look, i.e.
what they are made out of. Something made entirely out of
plastic is not going to hold up as well as a nice stainless
steel unit. The steel model will also be much more
attractive.
But aside from looks, there are other
reasons to choose more high end drip coffee makers. Did you
know that hardly any drip brewers heat the water to the correct
temperature for optimal flavor extraction? Most people have no
idea. Probably 90% of the coffee machines on the market today
do an inferior job of heating the water properly.
So make sure that the drip machine you
choose is able to heat the water up to the optimal 200 degrees.
Most units don't make it above around 180, 185 at the most.
This will cause your coffee to taste bad. So if you have
purchased high quality coffee beans, are using a good-tasting
water, and using a clean coffee machine to brew your coffee,
and yet it doesn't taste good, chances are the temperature of
the water is your culprit.
Manual Drip Coffee
Makers: If you have plenty of time to fuss around and
want to be absolutely sure of achieving the optimum water
temperature, you can choose one of the manual units. These are
quite cheap and they produce an excellent cup of coffee. They
normally come with just a carafe and a filter basket. You heat
your water in a kettle on the stove, then once it boils let it
drop below the boiling point for a few seconds, then pour
manually over the coffee grounds. The downside of this method
is you can't just push a button and leave the room. The benefit
is, though, the flavor of your cofee will be really
great.
